A bigger world from a tiny book

Final del juego (End of the Game) by Julio Cortázar.
Ahhhh! Final del juego has a very personal weight.
It is the book that made me love literature, before this I had the misconception that books were boring and a hassle: mostly the books I had to read in school, but then, this wonderful teacher gave us a short story (like one page short!) from this book and whoa! My life changed. That particular story is named Continuidad de los parques (The Continuity of Parks) and it is so good.
For the first time I understood the beauty of words, the mastery of narration at the hands of Juilio Cortázar, I don’t think the previous books were bad or something, I just needed the touch of Cortázar to get started.
So that’s it… without trying to avoid the importance that this book had in me, this is an excellent short story collection, Cortázar is THE Master (it is common knowledge! mind you), he is so playful and daring… just a delight.
