The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms by N.K. Jemisin.

I don’t think I can give a fair opinion.

It starts great, we have the cool place of our story, establishing the dynamics of power, the racial components and the introduction of our players. I liked very much these concepts, our heroine´s background, the gods intertwined in the mortal aspect of life and how many typical associations are reversed. Everything dandy till some point in the plot I could not quite grasp, before the climatic arc I felt things kind of fuzzy.

After some character inconsistencies, the story progresses correctly, but the final arc of the story left me completely uninvolved… but I really enjoyed the book, it is just that… what? Maybe the highlight of the final arc… was it romance? Ohhhhh! That would make sense, I just avoid romance like the plague, nothing wrong with the genre, I just don’t like it personally. I think I expected something else to happen, for me romance always is secondary to the story, not to say nothing happens or it is underplayed, only I don’t get it much and thus the fuzzy feeling, I think.

Maybe I wont continue this series, but I like very much N.K. Jemisin, so I will get on other books of her.

So I don’t have a strong opinion on the matter. It is a good book and some people will definitely enjoy it more than I did.
