The Long Walk (La larga marcha) by Stephen King or oh, my youth.

I devoured King´s books when I was younger, still love them, but there was a sense of fulfillment that was quite special when I was young. This is one of those books that fitted so perfectly and added so much love to my readings of him.

The premise is very simple and it could be described with a few phrases, but the real story is one of King´s fortes: the characters. He has a unique way of fleshing the characters and this is no exception. All the narrative is carried by them, it is remarkable how King can manage a book with characters “just” walking and make it so intense, raw and intimate.

It is a fast reading, a dark and exhausting one, so fresh in my memory after many years.
