Snake Eyes by Hillary Monahan.

Reads in a heartbeat! It is fun, fast paced, witty, diverse, gritty and a bit nasty. Great characters in a fantastic atmosphere and a pretty original setting, it does not delve deep, nor has to, there is skill in crafting everything neatly. Fantastic mood and a pretty original setting, very fun indeed!

Also... Got a soft spot for Tanis and Naree's dynamic, very sweet amidst everything.

Fun fact. It is part of a series which I haven't read (yet).
