The age of sex dolls is not over

Promise of Blood by Brian McClellan.

I was excited to read Promise of Blood but it turned out to be very disappointing. 

The book has an interesting setting and story, there was a lot of potential, but ultimately feels like such a waste. The narrative is lacking, the magic system is intriguing at first, but then kind of feels sketchy, it is sooooooo specific (they snort gunpowder and control bullets, that's cool though) but leaves no room for many questions. 

The characters... oh, my god... are. so. annoying. It could be an issue of taste, but they seem flat and underdeveloped. Frustrating. And let’s not mention the women, you could change them with sex dolls and it would not make any difference at all.

Rain showed its disappointment too.
