Behold the coolest book cover ever!

You'll Be Fine by Jen Michalski.

I wouldn’t picked up this book for myself before, so I am very glad a friend got me here and in passing, remind the bad puppy I am, to have a broader horizon. I was quite surprised by how smoothly I could get wrapped on the story and binged read half of it in one day.

I am not sure if I can give an objective breakdown of the book, there was just too much to process here. Sneaky books, right?

The mysterious motherly love, family, loss, identity, trauma, healing or the lack of, the haphazardly way we try to handle some things and how it becomes a trap on itself. Resentment and how to let go. An almost too tight packing of emotions, I squirmed constantly in anguish and enjoyment. The characters are delightful and very flawed and you can’t avoid to feel for them, to relate in some way and maybe if we are a bit lucky, to learn a little from their journey.

Alex Mess (:P) is a very complicated person, with a complicated family and… everything is complicated really, a bit too much to handle after hard life events pile up in her life. Unsurprisingly, she is making more of a mess along the way and as the book unravels you get to understand where it comes from. Better yet, where is she going.

And then...

Let´s take the author´s hand and ride this crazy rollercoaster, it is so very worthy. I intend to revisit later and hopefully organize my thoughts on this book, because… *alarms flaring*… feelings. The book now lives in a messy place in my head. It fits, hu?
